2020 Scholarship Application Form - Deadline
Today would have been Mrs Neu’s 80th birthday, so it seems like a good day to finally get the 2020 Scholarship Application Form posted. Happy Birthday, Mom!
Apologies for the delay. With all that is going on with COVID-19, and we hope you and yours are safe and well, it is easy to forget that when things return to normal (or some semblance of normal), some of us will be thinking of heading off to college.
For those who attended Fairfield Elementary School in the Davis Joint Unified School District, there is the opportunity to apply for the Barbara Neu Memorial Scholarship to help pay for it.
This year’s scholarship grant is $2,570.

As you may know, the Davis Joint Unified School District has closed all schools from March 16 – April 12 in an effort to slow the spread of COVID-19.
The deadline for students to submit scholarship applications is April 3 (and this is true for the Barbara Neu Memorial Scholarship, too). Because the Career Center will be closed, students will not be able to submit their applications directly to Judy Clayton, who administers the scholarships, by the deadline.
While the expectation, last week, was a return to school on April 13, this may be optimistic. Accordingly, it is probably best to submit these by email as close to the deadline as possible.

Julie and the scholarship selection committee will then do their best to process applications as soon as they can.
UPDATE:
The new deadline for students to email their application(s) to Julie Clayton is May 1.
This date was chosen to allow time to notify students of the revised submission process. It also gives students the opportunity to adjust to the new Distance Learning program they will begin on April 13, without the stress of an April scholarship deadline.
